What time do you open?
Seven in the morning. April to October we're open Tuesday to Sunday; November to March we're closed Tuesdays as well. The kitchen stops at 2:30 and the doors close with it, so a late lunch here is an early one.
Which days are you closed?
Mondays all year. From November to March we're closed Tuesdays too, so the winter week runs Wednesday to Sunday. Every open day is 7:00 to 2:30.
Are you seasonal?
The cafe is open all year. What changes is the week: April to October we run Tuesday to Sunday, and November to March we drop Tuesday as well. We also close for one week each January — the second week, once the holidays are done and the kids are back in school — so call or check Facebook before a long drive out.
What is the Snow Capped French toast?
French toast made on cinnamon roll bread — the same dough as the cinnamon rolls, proofed and baked into loaves in house, then sliced thick, griddled and piled with fruit, candied pecans and whipped cream. It is the most-ordered thing on the board, and Michelle's own favorite.
Is there a kids' menu?
Yes — For the Cubs. Bearcub pancake, French toast sticks or scrambled eggs with potatoes and toast at breakfast, each with bacon or sausage and a beverage. At lunch it's grilled cheese, corndog, chicken strips or mac and cheese, with a beverage and a choice of fries, fruit or apple sauce.
Can you bring a dog?
Yes. There is outdoor seating and dogs are welcome out there — and they get their own printed menu: bacon, eggs or a turkey sausage, and a Scooby snack when one is available.
Do you have gluten-free or vegetarian options?
Yes, both. Say so when you order and the kitchen will tell you what works.
Do you take reservations?
No — but we do call-ahead seating. Ring before you head out and we'll put your name on the list. With six tables outside and eight in, summer and weekend waits can run to an hour, so calling ahead is worth it.
Do you cater?
Yes. Give the cafe a call and ask for Michelle with your date and rough numbers, and she'll tell you what's possible.
Where exactly are you?
1824 AZ-260 in Heber-Overgaard, right on the highway. If you're driving the Rim between Payson and Show Low you go straight past the door — and there's parking for trailers and semis, so pull in even if you're hauling.
